Dad’s Army knew they needed to win in order to keep the pressure on the top 2, and stand any chance of winning any silverware for the season and they faced a stubborn Dadford City who were looking to climb off bottom spot. In a game of to and thro in which the teams were never separated by more than a couple of goals, Dads Army edged in front and led 4 - 2 at the interval. Both teams improved in the second half, notching 5 goals apiece with standout performances from Harber and Martin on opposing sides both bagging 6 goals. Both teams will be pleased with their performances, and a stalemate in the second half seemed a fair result but Dad’s Army edged it overall after a better first half display.

Kevin Thurston (53) already has one hand on the Golden Boot trophy, but two new players entered the top 5 as Harber (21) and Jones (20) leaped up to 4th and 5th after good displays, whilst last seasons Golden Glove winner Anthony Ashton (6.3) still leads by 0.7 over Stu Baker (7) although Nigel Dale (9.5) could enter the race as he currently sits third 2.5 further back after 2 games played for his new team.

Next up we have week break before we return with another double hader as top spot Real Madrid will try to avoid a third defeat in a row as they face Dadalona, whilst Dadford City host Papathinaikos.
