After a fairly tight opening period in which Dadalona kept Real Ma-Dad honest, the Champions form shone through as they dug out a 10-5 half time lead. After the break Real Ma-Dad cranked up through the gears to hit stunning form reminiscent of last season with 12 second half goals with just 1 in reply.
In the Golden Boot both Mark Wiseman (joint 2nd) and James Watkins (4th), making his 1st appearance of the season, plundered six goals whilst loaners Aaron Brock and Kevin Thurston both impressed with 4 apiece. Chris Debbage leads the way on 8 goals from 2 games.
A great defensive display from Real Ma-Dad along with some great saves drew Anthony Ashton level with Brian Weir in the Golden Glove, whilst despite the scoreline I think we can all definitely agree loanee Paul Godfreyimpressed in the Dadalona goal with a number of top saves in a solid performance. I've not had time to count how many saves he made, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was close to 50 odd!
The MOTM vote has gone to James Watkins for his calm and composed performance which provided a 6 goal haul as well as many assists for his teammates. Well done James!
We also had some transfer rumours confirmed last night as Paul 'Redknapp' Godfrey left Papathinaikos' training base that Gary Mac and Brendan Tillettwill be swapping between Papa and Dadston Villa due to inability to make most fixtures. We also heard that Aaron Brock joins Dadston Villa as he is next in line to be promoted from the reserve pool! Good luck in your new teams guys!
Next up we have some more MOTD history in the making; 2 games on the same night which will see Dadston Villa and Dadford City kick off their campaigns. Both fixtures, Dadston Villa vs Dad's Army and Papathinaikos vs Dadford City kick off at 8pm on adjacent pitches!
As always, both will be recorded, and anyone who wants to come down are always welcome to watch!
