Real Ma-Dad kept up their title retention hopes by closing the gap to table topping Dads Army to just 2 points ahead of their upcoming showdown in September. A tense opening period was settled by quickfire goals from Ereira and Wiseman putting Real into the lead. Oldman rallied as Kirk evaded the attentions of Taylor to fire past Ashton but it proved to be the only consolation as Oldman struggled to breakdown Reals stubborn defence as further goals gave them a commanding 6-1 lead at the half time whistle.
The second half was one way traffic as Real Ma-Dad ruthlessly added a further 7 goals without reply. In truth it could have been a much higher score not for numerous smart stops by stand-in keeper Weir in the Oldman goal and some good last ditch defending. Oldman should not be dispirited by their plucky display.
Ant Ashton leaps to the top of the Golden Glove after a pristine defensive display by Real Ma-Dad in conceding just 1 goal and leads by 2 goals per gameoverall with Brian Weir in 2nd. As a loanee Brian's loan stats are not counted in this fixture.
In the Golden Boot Mark Wiseman (10) notched up a further 3 goals to sit second with Chilvers, Debbage and Earley (9) sitting joint third. Darren Brigham leads the way with 13 goals after his two appearances so far.
Next up we have a weeks break due to the bank holiday and a night out on Sept 1st (details tbc) with matches resuming on 3rd Sept Dadalona FC vs Oldman Athletic and Dadford City vs Dadston Villa. Real Ma-Dad face Dads Army in a top of the table showdown on Sept 17th.
